Ivanhoe is a novel by Sir Walter Scott. It was written in 1819 and set in 12th century England, an example of historical fiction, skillfully blending historic reality, chivalric romance, and high adventure . Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe, disinherited and banished by his father Cedric the Saxon for swearing his love to Lady Rowena, the young noble man Ivanhoe left for the crusades with Richard the Lionhearted. On returning from the Holy Land, Ivanhoe was involved as a Richard supporter in the king's war against Prince John. Loved by the beautiful Rebecca, Jewish daughter of Isaac of York, Ivanhoe defended her innocence with his sword and spear, against the accusations from the Great Master of the Templars of being possessed by the devil and having set a love spell on the templar knight Brian de Bois-Guilbert. Eventually, Cedric accepts his son's intentions of getting married to Lady Rowena and the wedding took place in the York cathedral in the presence of King Arthur. This marriage set the end of the fighting between Saxons and Normans whose conflict came from the time of William the Conqueror in England. The Ivanhoe Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain commemorates the literary hero of Sir Walter Scott's classic adventure of the same name. The blade is made from tempered steel, with a fuller (blood groove) on each side. The intricately detailed bronze plated hilt features heraldic lions, gryphon, and unicorn on the guard with a green simulated gemstone within the pommel.

Barbarian Fantasy Sword
Barbarian Fantasy Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain

History, legends, and films (Conan), remind us of the Slavic, German, and Frank origin tribes that, from the third century to the eighth century, devastated the land of Europe, conquering even Rome. Called the "Barbarians" due to their uncivilized customs, this term happened to reach diabolical connotations for their rude and savage nature. The Barbarian sword, bronze finished with a blood grooved blade, depicts a winged two-headed dragon. In a world where strength was the law, Barbarian swords were robust and powerful, a symbol of authority and respect. This group of tribes ruled in a fragmented way, and lacked a strong political organization in Europe until the beginning of Charlemagne's empire.

Merlin the Magician Fantasy Dagger

MERLIN, his name means FALCON. When Merlin was born to the beautiful Lady of the Lake, the great druid Hafgan, from whom Merlin was to learn all his magic, announced the birth of "The Great Lord of Light". His grandfather taught him to be a great warrior and tireless defender of the Empire. He became Merlin the warrior druid, loyal counselor to Uther, supreme ruler of Britain. On the death of King Uther, without any legitimate heir, Merlin drove his sword Excalibur into a solid rock and gave his people a message: "You look for a sign. Who pulls this sword from the rock will be the true King of all England". Merlin then became tutor to Uther's bastard son Arthur, teaching him all the wiles of a good sovereign and keeping him hidden until the time came to unsheath Excalibur from its rock and claim his title as King of England. Once peace and harmony ruled in Britain, Merlin withdrew to his own abode. "Now you can continue to rule without my advice, go on ruling fairly and the future will speak of you". The fantasy Merlin the Magician Dagger by Marto of Toledo Spain has a tempered steel curved blade and a cast Silver plated metal hilt composed by different figures: the quillons shaped as a winged dragon, the handgrip looking like a serpentiform body and the pommel depicting the head of the wizard.
